Go

At First Baptist Rogers we understand our responsibility to be a witness of the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ locally, nationally, and globally. We believe that it is the task of every believer to be involved in the mission at every one of these levels.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

—Acts 1:8

We can:

Take a short term or mid term mission trip.  Pray about being used by God long term in another area of the world.

Help send others from our church to be a part of short term, intermediate term, or long term mission efforts through giving financially.

Pray for those that are on the mission field around the nation and around the world.  Pray for our mission’s partners.

Local

Every member of First Baptist is a witness to our community and must take the gospel to those around them – family, neighbors, and co-workers.  In addition, there are 4 other groups of people that we go to locally because of their special place in God’s heart.  Check them out to see how you can Go. Give. Pray.

  1. We go to those around us.
  2. We go to those in need.
  3. We go to at-risk children and teens.
  4. We go to widows and orphans.
  5. We go to internationals.

National
Every member of First Baptist is a witness of Jesus to our nation.  How do we reach our nation?  By sending out biblically qualified and trained men to plant new churches.  The Great Commission is not only a call to evangelize, “make disciples," but it is also a call to “baptize” new believers into a local church.  C. Peter Wagner says, "Planting new churches is the most effective evangelistic methodology known under heaven."
First Baptist has partnered with our North American Mission Board to plant churches in key cities in the United States and Canada. You can see more on the strategy at namb.net. Our focus cities are Las Vegas, Baltimore, Seattle, St. Louis, and Denver. Check them out to see how you can Go. Give. Pray.

Step 2 (Bio/testimony) – Your interest letter should include your bio and testimony.

Step 3 (Proceed) – You will receive an email giving you the ‘green light’ to proceed with getting a passport and 3 reference letters.  The IMB requires you to watch a child protection training video (IMB website has such a video). https://www.imb.org/for-churches/mission-trip-prep
