ABOUT FIRST STUDENTS

At First Baptist Rogers Student Ministry (First Students) we strive to reach out and get students to COME by providing weekly, quality, hands-on ministry and CONNECT in our LIFE Groups where they can GROW spiritually and begin to SERVE wherever they are as we encourage them to GO and reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Vertical 514 is the name of our Wednesday Night program at our Pleasant Grove Campus. Our name derives from Matthew 5:14, which says that "a city on a hill cannot be hidden." It is our desire that First Student Ministry is known as a city on a hill that is reaching students in NWA. Vertical 514 is a time for students to engage in Christian community, worship, and teaching. At Vertical, High School students will meet in the Student Worship Room and Middle School students will meet in the Middle School Worship Room (239). Student Cafe opens at 6pm and services start at 6:30pm. Students are encouraged to come as early as possible to enjoy some time of fellowship, and games.

LIFE Groups are times for our students to grow and learn more about Christ. They are held Sunday mornings at 9:40 and 10:50am. In LIFE Groups, adult leaders impact the lives of First Students through Biblical teaching and discussion. Our vision is to see students have an intimate, living relationship with Jesus Christ. LIFE Groups are essential to seeing them grow in this relationship.

Apex 514 is the Wednesday night program for students at our Olive Street campus. Students meet every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8pm. Students attending Apex can enter through the Activity Center doors, which and are located on the East side of the Olive Street campus.

From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, the gymnasium, game room, and snack shack are available. This hour gives both age groups the perfect opportunity to fellowship before worship. Then at 6:30pm, middle and high school students gather upstairs to engage in high energy games, dynamic worship, and Biblical teaching.

At Apex 514 we believe that regardless of your ethnicity, age, or the amount of money you may/may not have, we have a place for you!

LIFE Groups are age-specific Bible study groups. Our adult leaders are passionate about leading students in discussions that are Christ-centered, through Biblical teaching. Our vision is to see students have an intimate, loving relationship with Jesus Christ. LIFE Groups are essential to seeing them grow in this relationship.

At our Olive Street campus, middle school and high school LIFE Groups take place on Sunday mornings at 11am in the Student Worship Room.

Student Ministry opportunities are in abundance! You can help with the snack shop, teach a LIFE Group, volunteer for cookouts, and more!  You can review our child protection practices here to understand some of our expectations with regard to serving in any area of ministry that works with minors.

The following application is if you are new to volunteering with the ministry. This is not a background check.  That can be found at the bottom of this page and should only be completed once a ministry leader instructs you to do so.
