ASIAN AMERICAN CONGREGATION

The Asian American Congregation at our Olive Street Campus is our newest congregation, launched through the First Baptist Rogers church planting residency program. Led by Robert Yang  and Geur Chang, this English-speaking congregation is committed to reaching and discipling Asian American individuals and families in Northwest Arkansas. With a heart for building community, growing in God’s Word, and sharing the hope of the gospel, this congregation reflects our desire to serve the diverse cultural communities around us and to help every person take their next step in following Jesus.

Church Planting Resident

Geur

Chang

Geur Chang was born in Long Beach, California, and spent most of his life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with seasons of life in Georgia, Texas, and now Arkansas. At the age of 14, the Lord transformed his life during a time when he was considering suicide, giving him hope, purpose, and a calling that has shaped his ministry ever since. His passion is to make disciples of all nations. While God has called him to serve in Northwest Arkansas in this season, Geur believes this time is preparing him for future long-term ministry overseas among unreached peoples.

Geur counts it a tremendous honor to serve the Lord as part of the First Baptist Rogers family and to participate in the church planting residency. He is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Robert Yang in helping launch a church-planting movement, and he remains prayerful and expectant for God to bring a great harvest for His glory.
