Passage: Isaiah 41:8-10

8 “But you, Israel, My servant,

Jacob whom I have chosen,

Descendant of Abraham My friend,

9 You whom I have ataken from the ends of the earth,

And called from its remotest parts

And said to you, ‘You are My servant,

I have chosen you and not rejected you.

10         ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;

Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,

Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

10 ‘Do not fear

We should not fear because of who we are. 8-9

8 “But you, Israel, My servant,

Jacob whom I have chosen,

Descendant of Abraham My friend,

9 You whom I have ataken from the ends of the earth,

And called from its remotest parts

And said to you, ‘You are My servant,

I have chosen you and not rejected you.

We are chosen.

We are a chosen priesthood.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

We are called.

Romans 8:29-30 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

We are His servant.

We are servants of the Most High God.  We love others because we love Him.  We serve others because we serve Him.

 We should not fear because of Who He is and His promises toward us. 10

10 ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;

Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,

Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

 He is with us.

10 ‘Do not fear, for I am with you;

First, remember who He is.

God calls in the coastlands and they listen.

God judges nations and kings.

God is sovereign from the beginning to the end.

4 “Who has performed and accomplished it,

Calling forth the generations from the beginning?

‘I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.’ ”

Ephesians 3:20 God is able to do far more abundantly more than we ask or think.

He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  He holds all dominion and power and majesty and glory.  He is exalted above all things.  He is Master and Creator.  And so much more.  That’s Who He is.  Who He is matters and makes all the difference in the world.  Many people talk a lot and deliver very little.  God speaks and delivers so much more beyond our understanding.

He is with us.  His presence is in us.

He is our God.

Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.

Don’t worry;  don’t be looking around.  Why not?  He is our God.

He strengthens us.

I will strengthen you,

He helps us.

surely I will help you,

He upholds us.

Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
