Journey of Faith: Noah

Series: Journey of Faith

Passage: Hebrews 11:7-

Hebrews 11 has been called the faith chapter in the Bible or the Hall of Faith.  The last verse in that chapter closes with these words:

"because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect." (Hebrews 11:40)

Everyone is on a faith journey.

Hebrews 11:7 "By faith Noah,"

Faith originates and grows from the Word of God.

Hebrews 11:7 "..being warned by God about things not yet seen,"

Faith is attitude and action.

Hebrews 11:7 "...din reverence prepared an ark"

Faith results in action:

Genesis 6:14 “Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood

Genesis 6:22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did.

The evidence of Noah’s faith is that he “prepared an ark.”  Faith without works is dead. James 2:17

Faith has purpose and influence.

Hebrews 11:7 "...for the salvation of his household,"

Faith is a witness for grace and against sin.

Hebrews 11:7 "...by which he condemned the world by which he condemned the world"

Genesis 6:11 Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence

Faith is rewarded.

Hebrews 11:7 "...and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith."

6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Hebrews 11:13 All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
