Passage: 1 Timothy 3:1-16

1 Tim. 3:15  . . .I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.”   

Pastors are God-called leaders who serve the church. 3:1-7; 1 Peter 5:1-4;  Hebrews 13:17-19

Pastors are appointed by God and affirmed by the church.  

Pastors are responsible in personal and family life.

Pastors are tested and proven.

Pastors relate well with those outside the church.

Deacons are church-called servants who serve the church. 3:8-13

Deacons have similar qualifications as the pastor.

Deacons who serve well obtain a high standing and great confidence in the faith.

The church is visible, expressible, spiritual, and theological not just organizational.
