Passage: Luke 2:25-40

Preparing for Jesus involves waiting.   25-26;36-37

Wait with integrity. 25  . . righteous

Wait with expectancy. 

25. . .devout and looking

37. . .she never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayer. 

Wait with certainty. 26. . .it had been revealed by the Holy Spirit. . . 

Isaiah 40:31  Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weary.

Preparing for Jesus involves worshiping.  27-28; 37

Worship is by the initiation of God.  27 a And he came in the Spirit into the temple

Worship is the celebration of God.  28  . . then he took him in his arms, and blessed God.

Worship is revelation of God.  30 . . For my eyes have seen Your salvation.  

Preparing for Jesus involves witnessing.  32

Simeon spoke powerfully of personal salvation. 30

30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,

Simeon spoke prophetically of global evangelization. 31-32

31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32  A Light of revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.”

Anna spoke personally by personal evangelization. 38  

38 At that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.
