Greater Vision

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:12

Where there is no vision, the people perish.  Proverbs 29:18

When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.  Acts 16:10

God has done “great things” these past several years. We have experienced record attendance, baptisms, and mission advance. We now have eight worship services on three different campuses. We have been the mother church of over 150 churches and growing in India. We are praying and expecting God to reach our adopted UUPG's in Asia by His grace through His gospel and His church here. God continues to have His hand on First Baptist Rogers.

The three-year commitments that our people made to Extraordinary Vision to give above their budget giving conclude at the end of May. This above and beyond commitment along with Elevate Generosity has allowed us to build four additional buildings, service our debt, and retire other debt along the way. Your commitment to Elevate Generosity and Extraordinary Vision has made an eternal impact upon the lives of literally thousands of people.

GREATER VISION is our next three-year step of faith on this exciting journey. We are understanding better that we are on a journey. Just like our families grow, change, and advance; we as a faith family are on a journey of spiritual growth and new horizons. One of our theme verses is Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Our vision must be present and ongoing.

Jesus said in John 14:12-13, "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son." Jesus mentions our faith, “he who believes in Me,” our greater works, and prayer. As believers, we must do greater works, knowing that He will do whatever we ask in His Name for the Father’s glory.

Please join Lisa, our family, and me in seeking God’s leadership and asking Him to give us GREATER VISION to see God do even "greater things" in our exciting future. Please do not miss out on these opportunities for spiritual growth and impact as we share His GREATER VISION!

  1. Greater Vision is a necessary step to realize our mission of “making disciples of all the nations.”

  2. Greater Vision will create a better future now and for generations to come.

  3. Greater Vision will continue to provide space to facilitate our mission and process.

  4. Greater Vision will help meet our financial obligations pertaining to our debt. While we have debt retirement built into our ministry budget seeking increasing amounts each year, we are still short of meeting our debt service requirements. Greater Visionhelps to ensure our ability to meet this requirement. Our current debt requirement is approximately $720,000 per year. This is our first obligation of the campaign.

  5. Greater Vision will provide much-needed capital improvements on our Olive Street campus. We are continuing to renovate areas on our Olive Street campus including the Worship Center, Lobby, and our Children's wing. A major capital need is to put a new roof over most of the facility. The cost of this roof has been estimated at $300,000. We hope to provide additional landscaping on our Olive Street campus as part of this campaign.

  6. Greater vision will provide sealing and striping the parking lot and driveways at our Pleasant Grove campus. The estimated cost for sealing and striping of our nine-year-old parking lot and driveways is $100,000. On our high attendance Sundays, we frequently see people drive off our campus without stopping because they cannot find suitable parking.  Depending on our pledge amount and growth pattern, we may add some extra parking places.

  7. Greater Vision will provide additional debt retirement. Over the past three years, we have significantly reduced our debt to under $8 million. That is still a substantial debt, but our previous campaigns have allowed us to build four additional buildings while lowering our debt to a manageable amount in relation to our annual budget. We have also included $360,000 of debt retirement in our ministry budget for 2019. We want to continue to pay down on the debt as funds become available. The Finance Committee has the responsibility of evaluating the church's financial position as to when and how much these additional debt retirement payments will be.

  8. Greater Vision will provide the construction of an additional Preschool and Children's building at our Pleasant Grove campus. Our children and preschool departments have both increased by more than 100 children over the past two building campaigns. A continued growth pattern in these departments of the past three years will cause us to run out of classrooms for both the preschool and children in three years or less. This building has not yet been designed, but an initial cost estimate is approximately $3 million to add the necessary classrooms to meet the anticipated needs of the next six years in these areas.
