First Baptist Rogers will relaunch its’ Food Pantry ministry on April 3rd for those in need within the northwest Arkansas community. This ministry is based at our Olive Street campus. Come join the Food Pantry Team as they seek to minister to wholistically to the needs of the community.
Volunteer Positions:
Team Leader (Food Pantry)
• Maintain adequate food supply for the pantry.
• Order and receive food from the NWA Food Bank.
• Work with area grocery stores, grocery supply companies, restaurants, and local farmers to facilitate the purchase, donation, delivery, and storage of food supplies.
• Pickup, receive, and maintain records on food donations and/or deliveries.
• Provide quarterly reports to the NWA Food Bank and to the church.
• Overseeing the sorting and stocking of food supplies in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Oversee the food distribution process with the help of other volunteers.
• Provide orientation to volunteers about food distribution process; organizes schedule for volunteers; and gives overall supervision to the volunteers engaged in this ministry.
• Ensuring a welcoming, friendly, and service-oriented ministry environment so as to give the gospel distinction within the community.
Volunteers (Food Pantry) – 7-10 Volunteers
• Registering all clientele prior to food distribution.
• Packing food boxes or sacks for clientele according to family size and delivering groceries to their car.
• Helping to sort and stock food supplies; unloading trucks and crates; and storing food supplies.
• Greeting clientele with a friendly smile, approachability, and exhibiting gentleness, humility, and compassion as you seek to minister to their needs.
• Seeking out ways you can pray for clientele and being sensitive to opportunities to share your story (testimony) and God’s story (gospel).
• Inviting clientele to join you at church.
We are looking to build a new team to lead and operate this Food Pantry ministry. Seven to ten volunteers are needed for the Food Pantry, and preferably volunteers that are bilingual (English, Spanish, and Marshallese speakers).
Sunday, February 12, 2023, and March 12, 2023 – 1:30-4:00 PM
First Baptist Rogers operates a Mobile Food Pantry in order to extend this ministry service to other communities in northwest Arkansas. We are partnering with All Nations Community Church en Español located at 1950 Highway 412 E., Siloam Springs, AR in order to host this event leading up to their Worship Service at 4:00 PM. Volunteers are needed to work at the Mobile Food Pantry ministry primarily targeting the Hispanic/Latino community in this area.
Volunteer Positions:
Team Leader (Mobile Food Pantry)
• Picking up the truck and Mobile Food Pantry trailer and working with volunteers to get it stocked prior to the Mobile Food Pantry distribution dates.
• Working closely with the Team Leader for the Food Pantry as it relates to purchasing, delivery, storage, and donation of food supplies for both ministries.
• Assisting in the preparation of quarterly reports to the NWA Food Bank and to the church.
• Overseeing the food distribution process with the help of volunteers.
• Providing orientation to volunteers and teams about the food distribution process and giving overall supervision to the volunteers engaged in this ministry.
• Ensuring a welcoming, friendly, and service-oriented ministry environment so as to give the gospel distinction within the community.
• Identifying new areas within Benton County where we can implement the Mobile Food Pantry ministry, and in partnership with church planting efforts undertaken by the Missions Team.
Volunteers (Mobile Food Pantry) – 15-20 Volunteers
• Registering all clientele prior to food distribution.
• Unpacking Mobile Food Pantry trailer and organizing food distribution areas.
• Packing food boxes or sacks for clientele according to family size and delivering groceries to their car.
• Greeting clientele with a friendly smile, approachability, and exhibiting gentleness, humility, and compassion as you seek to minister to their needs.
• Seeking out ways you can pray for clientele and being sensitive to opportunities to share your story (testimony) and God’s story (gospel).
• Providing behind-the-scenes support for the evangelistic service.
• Inviting clientele to join you the worship service and/or LIFE Groups at the All Nations Community Church en Español.
We are looking to involve LIFE Groups in this Mobile Food Pantry ministry. 15 - 20 volunteers are needed for the Mobile Food Pantry, and preferably volunteers that are bilingual (English, Spanish, and Marshallese speakers would be preferable).

First Baptist Rogers operates a Community Meal ministry to provide meals to those in need within the northwest Arkansas community. This ministry is based at our Olive Street campus. Come join our Community Meal Team by helping to cook, wash dishes, serve food, and minister to the physical and spirituals needs of these people. We have been serving English, Spanish, and Marshallese speakers, so if you have proficiency in any of these languages, then you would be an incredible asset to this ministry. 20 - 30 volunteers are needed for this ministry on a weekly basis.

First Baptist Rogers is planning to launch a Clothes Closet ministry on April 7th, and during the same time we are doing the Food Pantry and Community Meal ministries. We need the following donations:
• Clothing racks
• Large plastic bins
• Hangers
• Slightly worn clothing for all ages and sizes (please wash and label before donating)
• Shoes for all ages and sizes
• New socks and undergarments for all ages and sizes (still in packaging)
• Winter weather attire
Volunteers (Clothes Closet) – 2-4 Volunteers
• Registering all clientele prior to the clothes closet distribution.
• Setting up clothes closet; sorting and tagging clothing; setting up displays; and preparing for the opening each day of the ministry.
• Keeping the clothes closet well-stocked with donations.
• Maintaining the records of the clientele and providing reporting as needed or required by the church.
• Greeting clientele with a friendly smile, approachability, and exhibiting gentleness, humility, and compassion as you seek to minister to their needs.
• Seeking out ways you can pray for clientele and being sensitive to opportunities to share your story (testimony) and God’s story (gospel).
• Inviting clientele to join you at church the following week.
Fridays – 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
First Baptist Rogers is planning to launch a Shower Service ministry for the homeless on April 7th, and during the same time we are doing the Food Pantry and Community Meal ministries on Fridays. Bathrooms outside the Olive Street Fellowship Hall will be renovated to provide shower facilities for men, women, and children. Each week, one volunteer for men and one volunteer for women are needed to maintain and facilitate the schedule for showers. Further, they will provide a towel and toiletries for each person in the shower facilities. Volunteers will ensure the towels are washed and dried at Olive Street, as well as packing the bag of toiletries to be made available on these ministry dates.
Samaritan Community Center is a grace-driven non-profit serving the hurting and hungry in northwest Arkansas with dignity and compassion. Since 2002, their organization has grown to include multiple programs and locations. Their Springdale operations center opened in 2004, and two Samaritan Shop thrift stores, located in Rogers and Springdale which provide financial support to cover operational costs. This project is being coordinated by Bryan Armlovich who serves as the SnackPacks for Kids Project Coordinator.
