Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Wes serves as the Senior Pastor for FBC and leads our pastoral staff.  His primary responsibilities are preaching/teaching God’s Word, praying for the church family, and providing overall directional leadership for FBC.  He began his ministry as senior pastor on March 3, 2002

He and his wife Lisa have four sons: Jonathan, Caleb, Aaron, and Benjamin. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Arkansas (Go Razorbacks!) and his M. Div. and Ph.D. in New Testament from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pastor Wes began serving as a pastor in 1990 after seven years as a civil engineer. He is actively involved in the leadership of "Finishing the Task" efforts to reach the unengaged, unreached people groups in the world. He has recently come to the end of his two year term as the President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. Pastor Wes and his familyPastor Wes and his familyIn addition he has been elected as President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Pastors' Conference and Vice-President of the Executive Board of the Arkansas Baptist Convention. He was selected as the 2006 Baptist Minister of the Year by Williams Baptist College.
